    The RE Curriculum Centre supports schools with high-quality resources and expert guidance for teaching religious education, collective worship, and spiritual, moral, social and cultural development.

    Our services

    We offer:

    • Loan service for books and reference materials.
    • Artefact boxes for loan, with advice on how to handle artefacts.
    • A wide range of published reference materials including books, posters and teaching packs.
    • Literacy support materials such as storybooks and big books.
    • Resources for purchase to support teaching in line with the Living Difference IV Agreed Syllabus.
    • Materials to support social and religious cohesion.
    • Telephone advice on RE-related queries.
    • Guidance on local and national contacts, including speakers and places of worship to visit.

    RE Centre teaching packs

    Our artefact boxes are designed to support planning and delivery of RE topics. Each box typically includes:

    • Planning guidance according to Living Difference IV, the Agreed Syllabus for Hampshire, Southampton, Portsmouth and Isle of Wight.
    • Relevant artefacts.
    • Story and information books.
    • Posters.
    • Useful links for classroom use.

    Artefact boxes can be provisionally reserved by phone (01962 863134) or email (re.centre@hants.gov.uk). Orders should be placed via our Curriculum Centre order form.

    We offer a wide range of digital teaching packs to purchase that will enrich religious education in your school. 

    Each pack is written to support the methodology of Living Difference IV, the locally agreed RE syllabus for schools in Hampshire, Southampton, Portsmouth, the Isle of Wight and some London Boroughs. These packs contain:

    • one or more cycles of learning
    • background information for teachers
    • stories
    • images
    • assessment opportunities
    • recommended resources and useful websites.

    All our packs reflect the requirement to use end of year expectations to inform planning and assess progression.

    Ordering and payment

    Use the Curriculum Centre order form to place your box or teaching pack order.

    Hampshire maintained schools: Ask your Finance Officer to complete the order form using the appropriate finance codes.

    Non-Hampshire maintained schools: Ensure your Finance Officer is aware of your intended loans, as your school will be invoiced.
