The conference is aimed at supporting teachers in teaching RE effectively with Living Difference IV, the locally agreed syllabus for Hampshire, Isle of Wight, Portsmouth and Southampton schools. Delegates will gain confidence in representing what it means to live with a religious orientation on life, in the classroom.
This is a cross-phase conference for primary, secondary and SEND RE teachers and leaders of RE.
The day will include keynote sessions on raising the profile of RE and practical advice for creating effective learning environments in the classroom, invaluable for all teachers in every phase of education.
A diverse range of workshops will include choices such as:
- cross-phase sessions on Pagan traditions
- deep thinking in RE
- Ofsted subject report
- phase specific sessions such as knowledge and remembering in primary RE, Islam in primary RE, exam board input and assessment in KS3.
Teachers attending the conference will:
- gain knowledge of the requirements to teach RE from the law and Ofsted
- build confidence to teach RE well in their school
- enhance your capacity to create a curriculum with Living Difference IV that ensures progress for all children and young people
- increase your confidence in the subject knowledge required to teach RE effectively
