Following on from the successes of ‘Our Climate Change Forest’ project 2020-21 and the ‘Climate Unity’ project 2020-21, we invite you to participate in the continuation project Climate Unity Conversations’ project to address a range of perspectives on the climate issue facing us all and to provide an opportunity for these perspectives.
Opportunities will also be available by other subject areas this year including Science, Design and Technology and RE. The opportunity to express thoughts on climate issues through the medium of art will also feature.
This year you are invited to create two-dimensional artwork responding to your Climate Crisis conversations that will provide artwork towards a digital exhibition. Some actual artworks will also be needed for exhibition. The artwork can be any size up to A1 and can be drawing, painting, collage, textiles, mixed media, photography etc.
Workshops: Two workshops are available on 11 January (11:00-12:30) and 21 February (09:00-10:30) to discuss ideas and thinking about the project and Climate crisis. You do not need to do these to join in the project, but it might help you to organise your ideas.
We are planning to have a Pupil Conference on Friday 14 July 2023 in Elizabeth II Court, Ashburton Hall, Winchester. Pupils will have the opportunity to share what they are doing and thinking about their climate concerns and to attend workshops and talks.
How to participate:
If you are interested in taking part in the project, please contact Elena Taraban Elena.Taraban@hants.gov.uk. We will let you know more details as we plan this, but you can be thinking about a small group of children to come to the conference and doing some two-dimensional high-quality artwork with children at your school to respond to the theme of Climate change.
