This course will deepen understanding of the requirements for SMSC in the most recent Ofsted Handbook and Framework, alongside auditing current provision and identifying next steps.
Participants will develop knowledge and understanding of:
- The most recent Ofsted requirements for SMSC and what good practice looks like in relation to a range of complex issues that must be explored in school.
- The DfE 'Promoting Fundamental British Values' as part of SMSC in schools - November 2014 and other related educational concerns.
- Ways to increase their confidence in handling questions in many complex and controversial areas of the lives of children and young people in our schools.
- Working more confidently in partnership with parents and others in the community regarding issues raised through SMSC and life in the contemporary world.
- Auditing existing resources and provision.
