  • Hampshire SACRE advice for schools – issues relating to religion and faith

Hampshire Standing Advisory Council for Religious Education (SACRE) has produced an advice document for issues relating to religion and faith; this document is attached below.

The HIAS religious education team receives many requests from schools for advice and guidance on a variety of issues related to religion and faith in schools such as wearing religious jewellery and clothing and also includes offering advice on withdrawal from religious education. This is in addition to advice available elsewhere on teaching and curriculum making in religious education.

The religious education team works closely with Hampshire SACRE members to help schools with such queries.

The attached document is  available for Hampshire schools.

The advice document is not intended to be definitive, but rather it seeks to highlight some of the issues that might arise in a school and to provide practical responses. It is intended that this document will be reviewed on a regular basis and further information added as required.
